This was my… read more first time to try any African-based cuisine, and it definitely did not disappoint me. Me and missus tried these menus (did not really know the names though): 1) Jollof rice (5/5) – the staple menu. I really love the slight tomato taste, and the burnt scent makes it more tasty, which somehow similar to Nasi Goreng Jawa in Indonesia. 2) Puff-puff (4/5) – taste good by itself, but when you dip it to the stew gravy, bro it was better! 3) Meat pie (5/5) – the pastry taste very similar to Indonesian Bakpia and Chinese Hopia, which traditionally use bean mungs. But this Nigerian version with meat inside is amazing!! 4) Fried chicken (3/5) – your usual fried chicken, still a bit too bland for me but it is very acceptable. 5) Beef stew (4/5) – very good stew when you mix it with the jollof, but by itself it was a bit too sweet. 6) Spicy peanut stew (5/5) – one of two stars of the show! This stew was sooo delicious with a bit spicy scent. Eat it by itself? Amazing taste. Put it in Jollof? Even better! 7) Vegetable stew (5/5) – damn I wish I knew the name of this dish. This is probably the best thing I ate in this restaurant. It is a vegetable-based stew, but it feels like there is no veggie inside. There are also some meats mixed in the stew, but somehow there is also a slight scent of fish in the dish, which is lovely. To add some information, this place: 1) is halal-certificated 2) has a ‘$25 for 4 menus’ package 3) has an amazing service! All in all, one thing that I can suggest is to put the name of each dish, so someone who is not familiar at all but interested with Nigerian cuisine (like me) can understand better.
